Double wall or multiple wall polycarbonate glazing
- comes in three different shading (clear, bronze and opal white) as standard option for our canopies - thickness from 6 mm up to 24 mm (standard 10 mm depending of the canopy width) - 10 years warranty - UV protection Main Advantages
Polycarbonate sheets come in many colours but the main ones are clear which lets in maximum light then Opal which is the opposite of clear in that it loses a lot of light but it still has two advantages one is it reduces heat build-up from the sun then the second advantage is the sheet hides dirt droppings etc so requires less cleaning the next colour is bronze which is a brown-tinted sheet so it goes well with timber structures like pergolas or on lean-to roofs above a patio. There is also less used colour like blue or heat guard which is silver there are also mixed sheets that have two colours like a bronze opal combination so you can have one colour outside and another colour inside. Solid Polycarbonate Glazing
Stainless steel frame and structure with solid polycarbonate glazing with numerous advantages: first of all - unbreakable, totally see-through
Solid Polycarbonate Sheet. The solid sheets are used for just about everything you can think of from machine guards to police riot shields this is because it has fantastic impact resistance, I remember Hans from Holland smashing a piece with a hammer during my introduction to the material explaining its 200 times stronger than glass. He was right but what does this mean to you? Well let's start with cutting polycarbonate can be cut with an ordinary hand saw a jigsaw or a rip saw with a fine blade and lots of care. Solid sheets will not crack during cutting which is a big help. What are solid polycarbonate sheets be used for? These sheets make a great glass clear roof material safe due to the impact resistance they reduce light by little or nothing and you can see straight through them. In the event a roof tile should hit the sheet it's just going to bounce. Security these sheets cover everything from Church windows bank windows to the counter at your local chicken take away on a Friday night that's because bricks can break these sheets. |
