Wood Canopies
Multi-wall polycarbonate glazing
Double wall or multiple wall polycarbonate glazing
- comes in three different shading (clear, bronze and opal white) as standard option for our canopies - thickness from 6 mm up to 24 mm (standard 8 or 10 mm depending of the canopy width) - 10 years warranty - UV protection Main Advantages
Polycarbonate sheets come in many colours but the main ones are clear which lets in maximum light then Opal which is the opposite of clear in that it loses a lot of light but it still has two advantages one is it reduces heat build-up from the sun then the second advantage is the sheet hides dirt droppings etc so requires less cleaning the next colour is bronze which is a brown-tinted sheet so it goes well with timber structures like pergolas or on lean-to roofs above a patio. There is also less used colour like blue or heat guard which is silver there are also mixed sheets that have two colours like a bronze opal combination so you can have one colour outside and another colour inside. Solid Polycarbonate Glazing
Solid Polycarbonate Sheets are an incredibly strong, safe and light alternative to glass that is UV protected on both sides. This makes it ideal for a wide variety of roofing applications, particularly canopies. It can also be used on various other applications, such as bike shelters, balcony screens and more.
They are are up to 200 times stronger than glass and other plastic glazing options. This makes it virtually unbreakable and therefore a long term roofing solution. Due to this incredible strength and this sheet being manufactured from high quality polycarbonate, overcomes the risk of shattering and therefore provides a considerably safer option. This solid polycarbonate sheet also features an additional layer, which protects the material from any degradation that may be caused by the sun. This includes prevention of discolouring, which is an issue many other plastic glazing options suffer from. This helps ensure your canopy maintain a faultless appearance for years to come. |
